5 PIECES OF ADVICE EVERY ASPIRING GIRL BOSS NEEDS TO HEAR

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always heard of powerful women changing the world every single day. I promised myself that one day I would be just like that. I wanted to become a #girlboss and make an amazing impact on the world. Now that I’m actually on my way to becoming a girl boss, here are the 5 pieces of advice I think every girl boss should hear.

1. ALWAYS SHOW UP

goal plan success

The number one piece of advice I always tend to give aspiring girl bosses is that they should always show up.

No matter who you are, or what field your career is in if you don’t show up if you aren’t consistent then you will never be successful.

Being successful is based on the things you do consistently NOT the things you do if and when you feel like it.

For Oprah Winfrey, when she first started in television, she said that the one lesson she learned was that consistency is key.

Once people realize that they can count on you, this builds relationships and reputation.

So spend your time trying to make sure you are present at all times whether that’s online or in person.

Think about it What would happen if you had a clothing store but only opened when you felt like working? You’d end up failing, right?

2. LEARN HOW TO MAKE CONNECTIONS

If there is one thing I have learned along my blogging journey is that no man (or woman) is an island.

To become truly successful, to be that boss you’ve always dreamed of being you need to learn how to make connections.

Networking gives you the opportunity to broaden your horizons, meet tons of wonderful people and expand your marketing and business opportunities.

I know you might be shy because I am too. But I have seen the value in building networks with people all over the world.

It has given me the chance to work with people all over the world, most of whom I would never have met otherwise.

3. DON’T TRY TO FIT IN

If everyone else was putting their circular blocks into circular holes, I was discovering new ways to make mine fit into a rectangular one.

It drove me crazy. But you know what?

Fitting in is overrated. Some of the biggest, most powerful girl bosses I know don’t fit it to any one mold.

They’re diverse, talented and amazing and that’s just the way it should be.

So find that thing that makes you unique and own it. Trust that there is no one else in the world who thinks like you and there never will be.

Understand that you will never influence the world by being just like it!

4. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE

Networking circle

This might seem like it’s very similar to my previous point but it’s honestly not.

While you’re on your journey it is important to build a supportive community of people. They need to be positive, ambitious and able to keep you accountable.

For me, it’s the tribe of women in my online groups. Whenever I feel like giving up they’re right there to give me a word of encouragement and to make me smile.

They honestly keep me remembering my “why”  and that’s one of the reasons I will never give up.

Find your squad and nurture each other and remember that truly successful women have other women supporting them as well.

5. MAKE SELF-CARE A PRIORITY

I recently spoke about the daily routine of all-powerful women and one of the things I mentioned is that self-care is a priority for them.

When you take care of yourself you’re able to take charge of how you feel and how you present yourself to others.

As you build your business and chase your dreams you can be tempted to sacrifice yourself in the process.

Don’t do that. You cannot serve others efficiently if you don’t refresh your mind, soul, and body.

Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. Take a few minutes a day to enjoy a cup of coffee, let your hair down and laugh at some cartoons.

When you feel your best you’ll be able to do your best.

IT’S ALL ON YOU

What's your choice

Whether you become a girl boss or not, the decision lies in your hands. Follow your heart, work hard and create your revolution. I’ll be looking for you in the success columns!
